Florence residential population growing

New U.S. Census estimates show the Florence population dipped 2.6 percent from 2015 to 2016, but the town attributes this more to a fluctuating inmate population.

The residential population is a different story, Assistant Town Manager Jess Knudson says.

“Florence is growing, and we’re growing at a steady pace,” Knudson said. “We are seeing an increase in residential population, in part for the positive things occurring in the community.”
