Maricopa HOA Facebook feud goes to court

A defamation lawsuit that accuses a homeowners association in Maricopa of slander and vandalism is being litigated in Superior Court.

Erin Meehan, a resident of Maricopa Meadows, filed a civil complaint last year after she claims she was harassed by the board president of her homeowners association.

In her complaint, Meehan accuses board President Eric Schmidt of being publicly hostile toward her on Facebook starting in July 2015. Meehan was the administrator of a Facebook group for Maricopa homeowners and claims Schmidt began berating her on the online page.
