No student housing appeal expected

In the two weeks since a Pima County Superior Court Judge gave the go-ahead for The Hub, a student housing complex located on Milton Road, Phoenix Avenue and Mikes Pike, the skeleton of a building has started to take shape on the site.

The 591-bedroom apartment complex, which was originally approved by city staff in June 2016, has been the subject of a Board of Adjustment and Superior Court case in the last year, with both entities ultimately ruling the building was acceptable in the existing zone.

For now, all parties agree the issue has been settled. Maury Herman, the owner of 120 Cottage Place, LLC, which appealed the Board of Adjustment’s decision, said he does not have plans to appeal the court’s decision in the case.
