One big $280M airport contract poised to be awarded as another bidding

The city of Phoenix is closing in on the award of a big $280 million contract to further extend the PHX Sky Train monorail to the rental car center at Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport.

The Sky Train already runs from the Metro light rail station at 44th and Washington streets to airport terminals and parking lots.

The next phase will take the train east to the car rental center and new ground transport center at 24th Street.
