Texas developer to invest $72M in senior housing market

Dallas-based Surpass Senior Living is investing $72 million to open four senior living communities in the Phoenix area.

Plans call for opening Mariposa Point of Gilbert at 1445 Willis Road in Gilbert this month, with two others to follow in Surprise and Mesa later this year. Another project — to be called Mariposa Point of Algodon — is expected to be built on 6.5 acres at the northwest corner of 91st Avenue and Thomas Road across from Banner Estrella Medical Center in Phoenix. That center is expected to open in 2018.
