Most of the Board of Supervisors this week supported softening a motion to file a complaint against Johnson Utilities relating to air quality violations, but one stood his ground against the amended action.
Rather than filing a complaint in the Pinal County Superior Court sooner, a 4-1 vote altered the direction to read “that this complaint will be delayed based on an order of abatement being reached by August 15.” If an order of abatement is not reached, the complaint will be filed.
At the June 7 meeting, the board went into a executive session to discuss potential legal action against the utility company for its Pinal County Air Quality Control District regulation violations. Officials say they are unable to disclose what is discussed in executive sessions, which are not open to the public.
