The Casa Grande City Council last week approved a major project that could change the whole area. Dreamport Villages is to include an amusement park, resort, other commercial aspects and residential area near the Interstates 10 and 8 junction and Casa Grande Mountain.
Of course, the months of meetings and work that city officials have spent on the project is only the beginning. Many more discussions and reviews lie ahead. But this project seems much more realistic than other such ideas that have been floated in the area over the years. As City Councilman Dick Powell wisely noted, other promoters did not have “$5 million with them.”
