West Valley set to emerge as next hot retail submarket

The West Valley has, for a long time, gotten a bad rap. Many local restaurateurs have shied away from opening there and developers have shuddered at the thought of building west of Central Avenue.

As the central Phoenix corridor becomes more dense, the bulk of development has been happening in the East Valley, partly because of big employers there, such as Intel Corp., Apple Inc. and Boeing Co.
