Gov. Doug Ducey doesn’t read much fiction. But five books focused on management, team-building and conservative politics top his list of works that have influenced him as a CEO and governor.
He requires his senior staff to read two of them: “Government That Works” and “The Conservative Heart.” And the books speak to Ducey’s underlying philosophy as the state’s top elected official – running government like a business.
The common theme in Ducey’s choices: He said they all relate to finding a higher purpose in your work. But don’t expect Ducey to write a book. He said that while he enjoys reading, he doesn’t know when he would find the time to write.
