The city of Mesa’s Office of Economic Development recently earned accreditation from the International Economic Development Council (IEDC), making it one of 60 economic development organizations to meet the standards for accreditation.
The Economic Development Office was named an Accredited Economic Development Organization (AEDO) after a review of its funding, structure, programs and staff, among other items, by AEDO subcommittee team members, according to a press release. The AEDO accreditation, which is a peer-review process, must be renewed every three years.
“This accreditation validates the efforts of our talented team and our commitment to upholding the highest ideals in economic development,” Bill Jabjiniak, city of Mesa economic development director, said in the release. “We have enjoyed numerous successes in recent years and this recognition demonstrates our desire to attain new levels of achievement.”
