The Wrigley Mansion, surrounded by the Arizona Biltmore resort and swanky offices, shops and restaurants along Camelback Road, was a lone, sprawling estate atop a hill when a Chicago chewing gum magnate had it built in 1931.
The mansion that William Wrigley Jr. built as a winter home is now an upscale private club and a popular spot for weddings, parties and corporate events. The Phoenix landmark recently underwent a $1 million renovation.
Some of the updates are practical: a new driveway, better air-conditioning and Wi-Fi throughout the 24-room mansion and the four acres surrounding it.
Others are aesthetic: reworking the breakfast room (the Wrigleys’ casual dining space), bridal suite, restrooms, living room, formal dining room, bedrooms and verandas.
