CASA GRANDE — Many Pinal officials are coming out in support of a new road tax and transportation plan that will be before voters in November.
Voters will be asked to approve two ballot measures, Propositions 416 and 417, that would allocate a half-cent sales tax increase along with a list of projects that would be funded with the money.
The Pinal Regional Transportation Authority crafted the plan to fund roadways and traffic interchanges that might otherwise not get attention. More than $640 million is expected to be raised for the road projects over the course of 20 years.
