5 dumb things people say while renovating their home

Renovating a home can be a daunting endeavor, but it’s often made that much worse when you throw in a homeowner whose head isn’t screwed on straight. Certainly contractors don’t expect you to know everything, but they do expect you to show some respect around power tools, electrical hazards, load-bearing walls, and—perhaps most importantly—the professional you hired to do the heavy lifting.

So, lest you’re tempted to say something silly or offensive to your helpful handyman, here are a few ignorant questions and comments they’ve heard on the job that you should never, ever repeat. Let these lines serve as little reminders that home improvement isn’t as easy as it looks!
