Chinese Cultural Center fight: ‘Show me the money’

David Tedesco is frustrated as the battle over redevelopment of the Chinese Cultural Center in Phoenix goes back and forth between court hearings, City Hall and social media.

Tedesco is CEO of True North Cos. The Scottsdale private equity firm bought the Chinese Cultural Center earlier this year and wants to redevelop the mostly empty 44th Street development.

That has sparked some opposition from preservationists and Asian-Americans who don’t want to see changes to the distinctive development north of Van Buren Street.
