Some San Tan Valley residents have waited a long time for a chance to become a city and not just a sprawling part of Pinal County. A new state law gives them an opportunity, removing the ability of nearby, less-populated municipalities to block the effort. And Vote San Tan seems to be off to a good start.
The committee is emphasizing the fact that San Tan Valley residents now have an opportunity to choose their future, something that has been lacking for several years. That seems to be a good approach because it is the crux of the matter.
