On the shelves of Michael Pollack’s advertisement museum in Mesa, the rhythmic ticking of more than 100 gear-operated store displays sound like music as characters and scenes from decades ago come to life.
These displays from the 1930s to late 1950s among more than 140 made by the Baranger studios are only one part of Pollack’s private museum, which features nearly 9,000 pieces of advertisement memorabilia ranging from 19th century horse figures to life-size Hamm’s Bear statues, German Bosch man statues and vintage Ronald McDonald busts.
