Arizona slips 4 spots in latest ‘New Economy’ ranking

Arizona remains slightly above average in a ranking of innovative state economies, but the latest grade was down four spots from a study conducted in 2014.

Arizona finished 21st in the 2017 study, down from 17th when the analysis was conducted three years earlier. Massachusetts repeated in first place, followed by California, Washington state, Virginia and Delaware.

Mississippi ranked last.
