Court rules in favor of Eloy in Coolidge annexation dispute

A land annexation sought by the city of Coolidge has been declared “invalid” by an appellate court.

The city of Eloy challenged the nearby city in 2015 after Coolidge passed an ordinance to annex 160 acres located near State Route 87 and Hanna Road. Paso Fino Horse Associates, a Nevada-based limited liability company, asked Coolidge to annex the property for the possible development of a hotel.
