A company formed by JDM Partners LLC in Phoenix (Jerry Colangelo, David Eaton, Mel Shultz, principals) has filed a zoning application to develop a nearly 2 million-square-foot mixed-use project called La Via on a site in Scottsdale that is now occupied by the CrackerJax amusement park. The prime real estate, which totals 27.94 (gross) acres, is located along the east side of Scottsdale Road just north of the Scottsdale Quarter development. Sources say the privately-held JDM Partners, whose most notable member is Colangelo – the Valley sports icon, could pay upwards of $80 million ($2.863 million per acre/$65.72 per foot) to buy the popular CrackerJax Family Fun and Sports Park.
