State water officials say no crisis in near future

Water officials say there’s no cause for alarm on a water crisis in Arizona, at least not yet.

Speaking to the Economic Development Group of Eloy on Thursday at Robson Ranch, Mark Lewis, a Central Arizona Project board member, said CAP has spent more than $40 million to “dodge a bullet” by working to manage water supply in Lake Mead. He did caution, however, that while the proverbial bullet had been avoided now, conservation efforts still will be required to ensure those water supply levels remain.
