In angst, Phoenix councilman says city doesn’t need lobbyists

A councilwoman said she has seen the value of lobbyists

Should cities use taxpayer dollars to hire lobbyists that push for laws taxpayers may not support?

Phoenix Councilman Jim Waring says no.

Waring’s most recent declaration against city lobbyists (he’s made this argument many times before), came as the rest of the city council approved two five-year contracts totaling more than $2.6 million for lobbyists at both the state and federal level.
