Lesko, as expected, enters the fray

Debbie Lesko is formally entering the race for the vacant West Valley congressional seat and plans to eventually resign from the state Senate to run in the Republican primary.
Lesko, president pro tempore of the Arizona Senate, said she wants to push for conservative causes ranging from expanding school choice to supporting tax cuts to increased border security.
She said she thinks voters will see her legislative record as addressing tough issues, such as changing the state’s sales-tax system, challenging utility rate increases and negotiating changes to pensions for firefighters and police officers that voters overwhelmingly approved.
