More skyscrapers were built in 2017 than any other year

This year set a record for the number of skyscrapers built across the world, showing just how much urbanization is coming to cities, says CityLab writer Linda Poon.

Around the world, there were 144 new towers built that were over 660 feet tall. Sixty-nine cities have built at least one skyscraper, compared to 54 cities last year.
