A construction boom is shaping up for 2018

All signs indicate that 2018 will be a big year in the construction industry, CNBC staffer Diana Olick reports.

According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, the construction industry added 30,000 jobs last month and construction spending rose more than expected in November to a record $1.257 trillion, according to the Commerce Department. Also, a new survey from the Associated General Contractors of America shows that three-quarters of construction firms plan to increase payrolls in 2018.
