After taking a day to process the announcement of the closure of Sam’s Club, area leaders are speaking out on the news.
Pinal County spokesman Joe Pyrtiz told PinalCentral: “Our (Pinal County’s) reaction is like many in the area — a surprise to see it close.”
Pyritz said the decision to close Sam’s Club doesn’t reflect the overall state of the economy in Pinal County, noting that the decision to close was made “at the corporate headquarters and not locally.”
