Former Arizona Rep. Rick Gray will replace former state Sen. Debbie Lesko in the Senate after the Maricopa County Board of Supervisors voted unanimously Thursday to appoint him.
Lesko, R-Peoria, resigned last week to run for former Rep. Trent Franks’ vacant congressional seat.
Gray, who lives in Sun City, will serve as senator for the remainder of Lesko’s term, which runs through the end of the year. He formerly served in the House of Representatives from 2011 to 2017, representing the same district.
