Rich Rodriguez has hired heavyweight Phoenix attorney Leo Beus and could be taking his own legal action after being fired as head football coach at the University of Arizona.
“I have been retained,” said Beus, who is is one of the managing partners of Phoenix-based law firm Beus Gilbert PLLC.
Beus called sexual harassment and hostile workplace complaints from Rodriguez’s former administrative assistant “totally bogus and totally frivolous.”
Those allegations led to the University of Arizona firing Rodriguez earlier this week.
Beus said he is still weighing next steps in his representation of the former Arizona football coach.
Beus represented Brigham Young University in its $450 million lawsuit and settlement against Pfizer (NYSE: PFE) over development of pain drug Celebrex.
He also represents the Arizona Diamondbacks in their fight with Maricopa County over the team’s lease at Chase Field.
