[COLUMN] Wolf’s Den: Takeover of federal lands by state seems a nonstarter

Hello, hikers and bikers. Wake up hunters and fishers. You too, birdwatchers.

Time for you to consider a possible conundrum.

The Arizona Legislature, perhaps emboldened by the dismissal of all charges against the defendants in the takeover of an Oregon Wildlife Refuge, is once again attempting to take over all federal lands [sic] in the state not needed for specific government purposes. Those purposes being seats of government and military bases per Section 8 of the U.S. Constitution.
