Coolidge mayor not happy with ADOT work on Central Avenue

Road work on West Central Avenue is in full swing in Coolidge, and more work will follow/Coolidge Examiner

Work on Main Street may be in the final phases, but that does not necessarily mean the city of Coolidge has its last road closure sign or torn-up pavement.

Mayor Jon Thompson said that while projects for both Main Street and the portion of Central Avenue between Main and First streets are on schedule, previous projects completed by the Arizona Department of Transportation have not gone so smoothly.

During the Mayor’s Breakfast on Feb. 1, Thompson noted that the city is in the process of negotiating over work that was completed on Central Avenue back in 2016. The project was overseen by ADOT.
