$14M parking garage coming to Gilbert’s Heritage District

Gilbert is spending $14 million to build a second parking garage in its Heritage District.

The 1.2-acre structure will add 600 more parking spaces, valet services, electric car hookups and an illuminated tower clock.

The public-parking garage on a vacant lot near Gilbert Road and Vaughn Avenue should ease parking difficulties in the popular restaurant area.

Construction began Feb. 16 and should wrap up in January 2019.
