Casa Grande mayor chides Maricopa mayor over ‘Battle of the Burbs’

Two Pinal County cities are duking it out in an effort to advance in a Phoenix-area radio station contest.

The battle’s on with some good-natured ribbing from Casa Grande Mayor Craig McFarland, whose city is squaring off against the city of Maricopa in the quarterfinals of the Battle of the Burbs, an online contest that pits suburban cities and towns against one another.

“I invited Mayor (Christian) Price to Casa Grande for a photo shoot, but he declined,” McFarland joked.
