Colbert entertains thought of stealing Sen. Flake’s office rug

Arizona Sen. Jeff Flake unwittingly became part of a “Late Night with Stephen Colbert” sketch recently.

The bit, titled “Stephen Colbert Grabs Capitol Hill By The Memo” aimed to poke fun at the February release of the Nunes memo.

The controversial document, released by the U.S. House Intelligence Committee Republican staff at the direction of Rep. Devin Nunes, R California, alleges the FBI and the DOJ illegally surveilled the Trump presidential campaign.

A rebuttal by Democratic members of the committee was released a few weeks later.

Colbert on Friday announced the released of a parody memo that simply read: “Devin Nunes is a (redacted).”

He then roams the halls of Capitol Hill, giving the memo to lawmakers and their staffs, including Sen. Jeff Flake.
