Child welfare advocates are praising the Arizona Legislature for their support of Rep. Bob Thorpe’s resolution, HCR 2009, intended to raise awareness of the dangers of access to online and offline obscenity and pornography by minors. Thorpe’s resolution passed the Arizona House of Representatives with overwhelming bipartisan support by a vote of 50-6.

“Rep. Thorpe is a champion for the children of Arizona. Protecting our children from online predators, sexually explicit content, and exploitation is critical to a healthy upbringing. Safety and mental well-being of our children should be everyone’s concern. PROJECT 25, whose mission is to end sexual exploitation and human/sex trafficking by 2025, applauds these efforts and congratulate the Arizona Legislature for taking the first steps to protect our future by removing access to inappropriate content that adversely influences our children,” stated Kathleen Winn Executive Director PROJECT 25 and co-founder of VAST (Valley Against Sex Trafficking).
