Peoria City Council approves rezoning for Marriott hotel

By this time next year, there could be another 198-room hotel to accommodate spring training fans in the P83 entertainment district.

Peoria City Council concurred with the planning and zoning commission and approved a rezoning application for a 3.3-acre site on the southwest corner of Paradise Lane and 75th Avenue. The existing Planned Area Development did not allow for a hotel.

The developer plans to build a “dual brand” hotel in one four-story building. By dual brand, this means there will be a Marriott Townplace Suites and Fairfield Inn sharing a structure. The building will also contain a restaurant/bar and feature a rooftop pool.
