Retaining and growing existing businesses needs to be Casa Grande’s top priority when it comes to economic development, a consultant told the City Council Monday.
Ioanna Morfessis, owner of the consulting firm IO.INC told council members that after meeting with multiple stakeholders in the city, business retention was identified as the No. 1 economic development priority. It’s great that the city has attracted several big projects, such as the possibility of a Lucid Motors plant, she said, but the city would be remiss to neglect the existing businesses.
