Florence nixes town assistance for chamber strategic plan

The Town Council unanimously declined to provide $12,000 in town funding to hire a consultant to help the Greater Florence Chamber of Commerce develop a strategic plan.

Councilwoman Karen Wall said she thought strategic planning was important for any organization, but “this is so broad in scope and the price is so high.”

She recommended supporting the chamber through the first couple of steps, “and see how the chamber responds. … I’d hate to see something this broad sit on a shelf un-implemented.”
