San Francisco Giants’ spring home in Scottsdale may get its biggest makeover yet

The 26-year-old Scottsdale Stadium could see its biggest makeover yet as the city looks to secure a longer lease from the San Francisco Giants, whose spring-training contract with Scottsdale runs through 2025.

Spring training is among the activities that drive tourists to Arizona — and Scottsdale resorts — each March.

The renovations, which are expected to begin at the close of the Cactus League season in 2019, could cost about $60 million. For now, Scottsdale leaders moved forward spending $5 million on design work.
