The 100-room, four-story Aloft Hotel officially is under construction with Tuesday’s groundbreaking ceremony at Westgate. The new hotel is designed with millennials or Generation Y in mind. Located in the Westgate Entertainment District, the new Aloft-Glendale plans to open in January 2019 or in about ten months. From the information sheet at the groundbreaking, Tuesday, April 10, 2018, “Aloft’s business model providing a hip, modern atmosphere at an affordable price.”
At the official groundbreaking, Councilmember Joyce Clark thanked Jeff Teetsel and credited his vision and leadership for what Westgate has become. Councilmember Clark said, “You have to thank Jeff for what Westgate has become. He has literally crated it.”
