Analysis: Pima, Yuma and Cochise counties have highest property tax rates in Arizona

With an effective property tax rate of 1.04 percent, Pima County has the highest tax rate among Arizona counties, according to an ATTOM Data Solutions analysis of property taxes levied on single-family homes.

The data shows Pima County has 256,396 single-family homes with an average estimated value of about $244,000. The average tax amount is $2,535. The effective tax rate is the percentage of a home’s value the owner pays in property taxes.

Rounding out the top five counties with the highest effective property taxes are Yuma (0.88 percent), Cochise (0.87 percent), Santa Cruz (0.82 percent) and Pinal (0.76 percent).
