Mormon Church officials revealed detailed renderings of planned improvements to Mesa’s massive temple on Main Street.
The temple will close May 20 for renovations and reopen two years from now. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints also plans massive redevelopment in the surrounding neighborhood, but has not unveiled that portion.
The 75,000 square-foot temple opened in 1927 and is the oldest Mormon temple in Arizona.
