Metro Phoenix not on front line of losses in potential trade war, study says

Metro Phoenix isn’t especially vulnerable to job losses or other economic disruption in case a trade war breaks out, according to a report that deems major aerospace, automotive and agricultural areas to be more at risk.

Some 69,200 jobs in metro Phoenix — slightly above the seating capacity of University of Phoenix stadium — are directly supported by exports, and another 57,100 or so jobs are indirectly supported, according to the Brookings Export Monitor report.

These jobs, largely focused in semiconductors, food/drink, educational services, vehicle parts and credit/lending would be most at risk if trade disputes intensify.
