APS seeks partner to bring in battery storage for solar power

Growing demand for solar energy has prompted Arizona Public Service Co. to recruit a partner to help create a battery-storage facility.

APS manages nine solar plants across the state that are not capable of retaining solar energy for customers to use at night. APS wants to create a battery storage system capable of holding excess solar energy from the solar grid system and redistribute it to households later in the day.
