The Eloy City Council has directed staff to solicit and recommend a consultant firm to prepare and adopt an Economic Development Strategic Plan for the city.
The council voted to approve the process Tuesday. This allows staff to send out statements of qualifications to get competitive consulting firms/teams that have both the experience and success with economic plans for similar communities.
The main goal for staff in hiring a consultant is the implementation and not just creating the plan. Officials want to get things moving in the plan instead of just creating a plan and then sitting on it and not seeing any results.
