The Governor’s Archaeology Advisory Commission recognized the city of Peoria for its historic preservation efforts on a Palo Verde Park project.

The Palo Verde Ruin, located at 26200 N. 73rd Ave., is a significant cultural resource in Peoria, according to a news release.

A portion of the 80-acre ruin is owned and managed by the city as the Palo Verde Park.
