A local group of residents that are conducting a feasibility study to determine if the New River and Desert Hills areas should incorporate into a town has released a preliminary map, which shows the hypothetical town’s borders.
The New River Desert Hills Incorporation Committee (NRDHIC) was formed last September by concerned residents who wanted a long-term solution to the area’s ongoing water shortage issues and development that is encroaching on the community’s rural lifestyle. The committee has been conducting a feasibility study to find out if incorporating the area into a locally governed municipality is economically possible.
