Town Manager Brent Billingsley will receive a 10.8-percent raise and other perks in a contract extension approved Monday by the Town Council.

Councilman John Anderson cast the lone dissenting vote. He agreed Billingsley “has done a good job, and taught us all a lot,” but disagreed with the size of the raise and other aspects of the contract.

Billingsley has been Florence’s town manager for 2 ½ years. The new agreement extends his contract by 4 ½ years, expiring on Dec. 31, 2022. His vacation days increase from 15 to 20 days per year, and his severance pay increases from four months to six months.
