The Diamondbacks didn’t have quite the early punch they did on Monday; rather, it was a more patient approach that served them well on Tuesday.
Backed by a three-run fifth inning, the Diamondbacks notched a 5-1 victory over the Chicago Cubs in the second game of a four-game series at Wrigley Field. Arizona has now won three consecutive games.
After leading off Monday’s five-run first inning with a hit-by-pitch, outfielder Jon Jay again acted as the catalyst for the Diamondbacks’ offense on Tuesday.
