83rd and Olive development gains Peoria approval

By Carolyn Dryer | Peoria Times

Council unanimously approved the rezoning application by Evergreen Devco, a development company seeking approval on a request to rezone the existing Planned Area Development (PAD) to the Trellis at Roundtree Ranch PAD on approximately 18.5 acres at the northeast corner of 83rd and Olive avenues.

The agenda item was continued to Aug. 14 to allow for the applicant and the owner of the out parcel north of the proposed development to come to terms on various concerns raised during the June 19 public hearing.

Peoria Planning Director Chris Jacques listed the concerns of the out parcel owner, which included noise and light transmission from the apartments planned for construction near the home; the feeling of the owner’s property being in a parking lot; and lack of adequate discussion about the out parcel owner’s concerns.

Jacques said city staff and the applicant met with out parcel representatives July 25.
