Ghost Hollow won’t be a ghost development much longer.

Planning and Zoning commissioners voted Thursday to approve new houses in the Ghost Hollow subdivision, off Pinal Avenue north of Val Vista Boulevard. Joseph Carl Homes, a Phoenix-area homebuilder, has purchased 125 platted lots and plans to offer a variety of homes, City Planner Joseph Horn told commissioners.

Unlike other homebuilders that have come back to the city, Joseph Carl Homes doesn’t plan to build a model home complex. Instead, Horn said, the homes will all be constructed as speculative builds, or spec homes.

The homes will be offered in a variety of designs, including Spanish, craftsman and farmhouse, and will have a variety of color schemes.
