KB Home (NYSE: KBH) has again scored big in the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s 2018 ENERGY STAR Certified Homes Market Leader Awards, netting a total of an industry-leading 20 across all its markets.
KB Home built its first ENERGY STAR new home in 2000. The 115,000+ ENERGY STAR homes KB Home has built since that time have collectively saved its homeowners an estimated $658 million in utility bills and reduced CO2 emissions by an estimated 4 billion pounds, which is equivalent to removing 382,000 cars from the road.
“ENERGY STAR is the foundation on which we have built our industry-leading sustainability program over nearly two decades,” said Jeffrey Mezger, chairman, president and chief executive officer of KB Home. “We are honored to be recognized once again by EPA for our commitment to delivering this superior level of energy performance to our homeowners across the country, which helps them to both save money on utility bills and protect important natural resources.”
